East Sussex Rights of Way Improvement Plan
Under the Countryside & Rights of Way Act 2000, East Sussex County Council is required to prepare and publish a Rights of Way Improvement Plan by November 2007. The East Sussex Local Access Forum has played a major part in this, and so far have produced a draft Plan for public consultation.
The Plan is not about rights of way maintenance; it's aim is to make the network more attractive to the wider public, by improving links with public transport and encouraging the use of local businesses.
East Sussex County Council and the Local Access Forum would welcome your comments on the Draft Rights of Way Improvement Plan by Friday 23 March 2007 and there are several ways for you to do this.
From 14 December 2006 you can visit www.eastsussex.gov.uk/currentconsultations and view the full Plan or Summary. You can also make comments using the online questionnaire. Alternatively, you may respond by completing an electronic questionnaire from the website and emailing it to East Sussex County Council at the address below, or printing it off and posting it.
Remember, the Rights of Way Improvement Plan will depend upon your input in order to be effective. The more public comments and suggestions there are, the more the Council and Central Government will be forced to take notice.
