Councillors asked, "Will you help save East Sussex's paths and Bridleways?"

A survey of parish councils, walking clubs and Ramblers Association
footpath secretaries has shown widespread concern about the
state of rights of way in the county. When the survey was carried out
official East Sussex Council figures provided to the Audit Commission
showed that a third of all paths were obstructed or difficult to use.
Since the survey was undertaken that figure has risen to nearly 50%.
